Study Abroad


Students may receive financial aid for a study abroad program if they meet the following conditions:

  • The program is recognized by The University of Tennessee. Find programs using the Programs Abroad Office's Program Finder.
  • The credits earned while abroad are eligible to be transferred back to The University of Tennessee and will count toward your degree program.
  • You complete the Study Abroad Financial Aid forms packet available in the Programs Abroad Office.
  • You are registered in the Study Abroad Course through the Programs Abroad Office

Students studying abroad may use most scholarship funds for Study Abroad program fees; additionally, there are a few scholarships specifically available for Study Abroad programs. Visit the Programs Abroad Office's Money Matters site to learn more about types of financial aid available for students studying abroad, including scholarships.
